Wisconsin's home-based private educational program is not bound by DPI/public-school graduation credit rules; the parent adopts graduation requirements, documents credits, and issues the diploma.

The public-school credit table, for reference
Wisconsin's public-school diploma requires 15.5 credits. A homeschool is not held to it. It is shown as the reference a transcript is commonly read against. A recruited athlete also registers with the NCAA Eligibility Center, which grades home-school core courses against its own worksheet, separate from this table.

Assessments in the public-school rules: Civics test required since 2016-17: 100 questions drawn from the US naturalization exam, must answer at least 65 correctly to graduate; limited IEP exceptions. These exams bind public-school students; a homeschooled student is not required to take them.
What Wisconsin colleges ask a homeschooled applicant for
DPI sets a 15.5-credit statewide floor (Wis. Stat. § 118.33), not a fixed total; local school boards may and often do require more, and DPI encourages 8.5 additional credits. Homeschool families set their own requirements and issue their own diploma.

Math must include algebra, geometry, and advanced math with algebra/geometry prerequisites; statistics/business math/computer classes do not count. UW-Madison publishes minimums only; it does not state a recommended year count.
